Shore Dives

Shore Dives…

There are a number of shore dives around the Merimbula, Tathra and Eden area. These dives offer numerous varieties of sea life such as rays, cuttlefish, groper, octopus, moray eels, sponges and spectacular soft corals. See our photo album Merimbula Sea Life .

1. Merimbula Wharf

Entry is usually easyRated by many as one of Australia’s top ten shore-dive sites. This is where we often conduct our open water courses and try dives.

It is only a few minutes from the lodge, easily accessible, usually protected and with a great variety of sealife. Dolphins, seals and whales often visit the bay, rays are commonly seen. Weedy Sea Dragons, octupus, cuttlefish and many fish species will delight the eye of both novice and regular divers.

The Aquarium and Wharf restaurant is a great place to relax between dives. Enjoy a fine dining experience inside or just a bowl of hot chips and a drink overlooking the wharf. For those who don’t dive, the aquarium has a great display of local and exotic fish, sharks, octopus, crays, cuttlefish and even “Nemo” and his tropical friends.
